Chingiz Aitmatov Park

Address Western Bishkek

A modern landscaped park named for Chingiz Aitmatov, the Soviet-era Kyrgyz novelist whose books — Jamilia, The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years, Mother Earth — are the foundational works of 20th-century Kyrgyz literature. Opened in 2018, the park has wide paths, fountains, statues of characters from Aitmatov's novels, and a bronze of the writer himself.

A pleasant spot for a walk in summer evenings. The Aitmatov Drama Theatre sits at the eastern edge of the park.
