In summer the valley above Norus opens up into broad meadows and pine forest, with a clear stream running down the centre. The hiking here is unhurried and accessible: there are no technical sections, the altitude gain is gradual, and the trail is easy to follow up through the trees before emerging onto the open jailoo (high pasture) above.
From the upper meadows there are good views back across the Chüy Valley to the plains, and on clear days the snow-covered ridgeline stretches in both directions. You are likely to see horses grazing, and birds of prey circling overhead — the valley sees little foot traffic outside of summer weekends. Bring water, as there are no facilities above the resort.
