Flights are the normal way in. Kota Kinabalu and Kuching have the broadest domestic links, especially from Kuala Lumpur, while Miri, Sandakan, Tawau, Sibu, Bintulu, and Labuan handle important regional routes.
Overland travel from Brunei or Indonesian Kalimantan is possible but slower and more paperwork-heavy. For most visitors, flights between Sabah and Sarawak save a full day or more.
