Sungai Tekala Recreation Forest is a straightforward river escape north of Semenyih, inside the Selangor State Park system. The appeal is simple: shaded forest, shallow running water, picnic shelters, and small cascades where families cool off when the lowlands are hot.
It is not a deep-jungle expedition. That is the point. Bring food, water shoes and a change of clothes, keep an eye on monkeys around picnic spots, and avoid the river after heavy rain when tropical streams can rise quickly.
