Pwe Kauk Falls

Pwe Kauk Falls (also called Hampshire Falls, an old colonial name) is the more accessible of the two waterfalls near Pyin Oo Lwin — a pleasant park surrounds the cascade, with picnic areas, teashops, and resident monkeys that have long lost their fear of people. Locals come here at weekends for family outings.

The falls drop in several tiers through a forested gorge. The lower pool is calm enough for wading in the dry season. It is a more relaxed outing than Anisakan — no steep hiking required — and a good choice if you want a comfortable afternoon out of town. The site is about 4 km from the botanical gardens and easily combined with a visit there.
