A short walk from Htukkanthein, the Lawka Man Aung pagoda is an octagonal stone stupa from the early 17th century, built by King Thiri Thu Dhamma. Its terraced base carries small stupas at each corner and the central tower is divided into bands of recessed niches, a distinctive Rakhine architectural feature.
Smaller and quieter than its neighbours, it is rarely crowded. Climb the low platform around the base for the best view of the surrounding hilltop temples; sunset from here, with the Andaw-thein and Ratanabon catching the last light, is among the best in Mrauk-U.
