Manimukunda Sen Park

Historic park and garden in central Butwal, named after a 17th-century Sen dynasty king

Manimukunda Sen Park, locally known as Phulbari (meaning "flower garden"), is a historic public garden in the central part of Butwal, named after Manimukunda Sen, a 17th-century ruler of the Palpa Sen dynasty who controlled the Butwal area. The park has a small pond, ornamental plantings, and a pleasant atmosphere that makes it a popular spot for local families in the evenings.

It is not a major destination in itself, but for travellers spending time in Butwal it provides a quiet green space and a connection to the area's pre-Gorkha history. The Sen dynasty ruled much of western Nepal before the Gorkha expansion, and Butwal was an important point on the trade route between India and Tibet. The park is centrally located and easy to combine with a walk through the main bazaar area.
