Housed in the former royal palace on Durbar Square, the Patan Museum holds one of the finest collections of Himalayan sacred art anywhere. Bronze statues, stone carvings, and ritual objects are displayed with real context about their religious function — not just aesthetics. The restoration of the palace building itself (done with Austrian support in the 1990s) is a benchmark for heritage conservation in Nepal. Budget at least two hours.
