Korean Buddhist Temple (Dae Sung Suk Ga Sa)

A large Korean-style temple complex on the Mahayana side of the Monastic Zone, painted in the muted greens, reds, and blues characteristic of Joseon-era temple architecture. The compound is unusually peaceful and the grounds are well-tended pine gardens uncommon in this hot Terai climate.

Korean Buddhist meditation retreats run here several times a year. Visitors at other times can join the early-morning service. The temple maintains a small library and reading room with translated sutras in English.
