A white marble Thai-style temple on the eastern side of the Monastic Zone, gifted by the Thai royal family and the Thai Sangha and completed in 1999. The three-tiered roof, gilded finials, and white walls make it one of the most striking buildings in Lumbini — a transplanted piece of Bangkok in the Terai.
The interior is a single large hall with a seated golden Buddha and walls covered in murals showing scenes from the Jataka tales. The grounds include a meditation centre that hosts retreats for foreign visitors; quick visits welcome at other times.
