Barka is about 80km west of Muscat along the coastal highway (Highway 1 / Al Batinah Expressway). The drive from Muscat takes around 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. From Seeb (the airport area), it is closer to 40 minutes. Taxis and ride-sharing apps from Muscat can make the trip, though hiring a car is the most practical option if you are combining Barka with other Batinah coast stops.
There is no direct bus service from Muscat to Barka; long-distance buses heading west toward Sohar pass through but may not stop conveniently. Barka is a natural stop if you are driving the Batinah coast toward Rustaq, Nakhal, or Sohar.
