October through March is the best time to visit Barka. The weather is mild, the bullfighting season is on, and the coast is pleasant for walking and beach visits. Winter temperatures are ideal — daytime highs around 25°C, cool evenings.
Summer (June through September) is brutal on the Batinah coast. Temperatures regularly exceed 45°C and the humidity is high. Visiting between June and September is not recommended unless you spend almost all your time in air-conditioning. The bullfighting stops in the summer months as well.
Ramadan is a quiet time when some restaurants are closed during the day. It can actually be a pleasant time to visit if you observe local customs — the evenings come alive with iftar celebrations.
