When to Go

Buraimi has a hot desert climate. October to April is the only really comfortable time to visit — daytime temperatures in the high twenties Celsius, cool evenings, and the occasional brief shower. Winter nights on Jebel Hafeet can drop close to freezing; bring a jacket.

May to September is brutal: temperatures regularly above 45°C, with high humidity from the Gulf making the heat much worse than the numbers suggest. Even early-morning sightseeing is uncomfortable. If you must visit in summer, plan everything for before 9am or after 6pm.

The Buraimi camel souq is busiest on Fridays, and the larger Al Ain markets and museums are busiest at the weekend (Friday–Saturday in the UAE).
