Mirpur has its own domestic airport with flights from Karachi, Lahore, and occasionally from the UK for returning diaspora visitors. By road, Mirpur is about 2.5 hours from Islamabad via the M2 motorway and GT Road to Dina, then east into Azad Kashmir. The drive is straightforward. From Lahore, the journey takes around 4 hours. There is no direct rail link; the nearest mainline station is at Jhelum, from which shared taxis run to Mirpur.
