The only planned tourist resort in the Poonch district, Banjosa is a small lake surrounded by forested mountains 19 kilometers from Rawalakot on the road toward Hajira. The lake sits at about 1,800 meters and the views across the water to the green ridges are genuinely striking.
A few government rest houses stand in the surroundings, and there are basic food stalls near the lake. It gets busy on weekends and holidays with visitors from Rawalpindi, but on weekdays you may have it largely to yourself.
