Bahawalpur Zoo

One of Pakistan's oldest zoos, established 1942, with extensive grounds

Bahawalpur Zoo, established in 1942 during the princely state era, is one of the oldest zoos in Pakistan. The grounds cover 25 acres in the city centre and hold a range of animals including Bengal tigers, lions, leopards, various deer species, and waterfowl. The zoo also maintains a small botanical garden section.

It is a popular family destination for Bahawalpur residents and worth a visit if you have time, particularly for the spaciousness of the grounds compared to many urban Pakistani zoos. Early morning is the best time when animals are active.
