Borit Lake

High-altitude lake in Gojal Valley, near Hussaini village and the Karakoram's stark mountain scenery.

Borit Lake (also spelled Borith Lake) is a shallow saline lake in the Gojal area of Upper Hunza. Fed from underground sources with no visible inlet or outlet, it sits in unusual stillness and draws a broad range of migratory birds.

The lake can be reached via a 2 km unpaved track from Hussaini village, accessible by jeep from the Karakoram Highway, or by a 2–3 hour trek from Ghulkin village across the end of the Ghulkin Glacier.
