Borit Lake

A high blue-green saltwater lake at 2,600 metres above sea level, tucked behind a moraine ridge near Passu (45 km south of Sost). A small hamlet of stone houses sits on its shore, with views east to the Passu and Batura glaciers.

It is a 30-minute steep walk up from the highway. Migratory birds use the lake in spring and autumn — a stopover on the Central Asian flyway between Siberia and India.
