The blue ice of the Passu Glacier descends from the Batura Muztagh range and reaches almost to the Karakoram Highway near Passu village. A rough trail leads from the road up to the glacier's snout in about an hour and a half; it climbs through moraine debris with the dirty front of the ice ahead.
The glacier is retreating rapidly — the edge has pulled back over a kilometre since the 1980s. A modest day hike for travellers based in Sost.
