Kota Beach at Santa Fe is the main reason most people come to Bantayan — a long, white-sand beach of fine powdery sand that shelves gently into clear, shallow water. The calm is partly geographic: Bantayan sits in a relatively sheltered position between Cebu and Negros, with the Visayan Sea to the west and Cebu Channel to the east, so significant swell is rare.
The beach is lined with small resorts and guesthouses, coconut palms, and the occasional food stall selling grilled fish and cold beer. Compared to beaches in Boracay or even the resort areas around Cebu City, this is understated — the appeal is the quality of the sand and water, not the facilities. The best light is in the afternoon, when the setting sun hits the beach from the west.
