The dry season from November to April is the most comfortable time to visit. December through February offers the best weather — cool by Philippine standards, low humidity, and calm seas for the ferry crossing. March and April are still dry but become hot.
The rainy season runs from June to October. Heavy rain and rough seas during these months can make the crossing unpleasant and occasionally cause cancellations. The island itself is atmospheric in any weather — mist over the ruins and jungle is not without its appeal — but the practical difficulties make the dry season preferable.
May straddles the seasons and can be uncomfortably hot and humid before the rains arrive. Any time of year, the historical weight of the island makes it a worthwhile visit.
