Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA)

The Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art occupies a prominent building in the Megaworld Iloilo Business Park and holds the most significant collection of Philippine contemporary and modern art outside Manila. The permanent collection includes works by National Artists for the Visual Arts and a strong representation of Visayan and Ilonggo artists. Rotating exhibitions change regularly and often highlight emerging Philippine talent.

The building was designed by architect Lor Calma with interior spaces suited to both large-format painting and sculpture. The programming extends beyond exhibitions to include talks, workshops, film screenings, and educational programmes. For a city of Iloilo's size, having a museum of this quality is remarkable — and it is well-maintained and well-run. Open Tuesday to Sunday; modest admission fee.

A story
ILOMOCA opened in 2018 in a purpose-built building inside the Iloilo Business Park, making it one of the newest dedicated contemporary art museums in Southeast Asia. The initiative was unusual for a provincial Philippine city — the museum was funded by Megaworld Corporation as part of its mixed-use development, a model of private sector arts patronage that has since attracted international attention.
