Makati is a year-round destination, but the most comfortable time to visit is during the dry season from November to February. Temperatures are still warm but more bearable, typically in the low-to-mid 30s Celsius, with low humidity and little rainfall. December brings festive street decorations and a lively atmosphere throughout the Ayala Center area.
March to May is the hot dry season — temperatures regularly exceed 35°C and the humidity climbs sharply. June to October brings the southwest monsoon: afternoon downpours are common, and the city's drainage infrastructure, while better than most of Metro Manila, can still struggle with heavy rain. Typhoons occasionally affect the region between July and November, though Makati's inland position means it rarely takes a direct hit.
Public holidays, particularly Holy Week and Christmas week, can slow the city down somewhat, with businesses shutting and many residents returning to their home provinces. On the other hand, Greenbelt and Glorietta are packed with locals during school holidays — book restaurants well in advance if you are visiting at these times.
