Sacred Mountain National Park covers an isolated wooded outcrop on the northern edge of the city — a small 22-hectare reserve protecting one of the last patches of native forest in the Marawi area. The mountain is considered sacred in Maranao tradition; a short walk to the top gives the best aerial view of the city, the lakeshore, and the surrounding province.
It is also one of the most accessible places near town that has stayed peaceful in recent years. Check at the tourism office for current access conditions before walking up.
