Pulacan Falls

Pulacan Falls is about twelve kilometres outside Pagadian in the neighbouring municipality of Labangan, on the road heading inland from the bay. The river drops in a wide white sheet over a rock shelf into a broad pool — not very tall, but powerful and photogenic, and big enough that the spray cools the whole valley.

The site is set up for picnics: locals come at weekends with food, cottages and tables can be rented for the day, and there are platforms above the falls for swimming and jumping. A short walk along the river leads to quieter pools upstream. A tricycle or a habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) from Pagadian gets you there in twenty to thirty minutes.
