Maira-ira Beach, often called the Blue Lagoon, is the more dramatic side of Pagudpud. The bay is tucked below Maira-ira Point, with pale sand, clear blue water in calm conditions, and green hills pressing close behind the shore.
It is more exposed and more developed in pockets than the name suggests, so do not expect solitude. The appeal is the setting: beach, headland, sea stacks, and the feeling that Luzon's north coast is beginning to turn wild.
