When to Go

Parañaque has a classic Metro Manila climate: hot and humid year-round, with a wet season running from June through October that brings heavy afternoon downpours and occasional typhoon scares. The dry season from November to May is the most comfortable time to visit.

November through February is genuinely pleasant — temperatures ease into the low-to-mid 30s Celsius and the humidity drops noticeably. This is the peak of the holiday season, and the Entertainment City resorts pull out all the stops for Christmas and New Year. Book well in advance if you plan to stay around those dates.

Every Wednesday is practically a public event at Baclaran: the novena at the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help draws tens of thousands of devotees, and the surrounding market doubles in intensity. Traffic in the area becomes extremely difficult. If you want to witness this spectacle, build in extra time; if you're just passing through, try to avoid the area entirely on Wednesdays.

The Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on the last Sunday of June is the high point of the Baclaran calendar, drawing pilgrims from across the Philippines.
