Outside Pahiyas Festival week (15 May), Lucban is a quiet little town that takes half a day to see: the old church on the plaza, the giant Christ statue at Kamay ni Hesus, and the public market for longganisa and kiping. The serious draw for outdoors travellers is Mount Banahaw, the sacred volcano that rises behind the town and offers multi-day climbs (with a permit).
