Rizal borders Metro Manila on the east, so for most visitors the trip is simply a long jeepney, bus, or taxi ride from the city. The standard route to Antipolo is via Sumulong Highway off Marcos Highway; allow an hour from Cubao on a good day, two on a bad one. Angono is reached via Manila East Road from Pasig.
There is no rail link. The Light Rail Transit Line 2 was extended to Antipolo in 2021, ending the long-running plan to push rail into the foothills; the station puts Antipolo within a 45-minute ride of central Manila.
