Rawis is a small beach area south of Borongan city centre with a handful of basic beach resorts including Pebbles and Sand and Pirate's Cove. These places offer simple accommodation in native-style cottages with hammocks, open-air dining, and the sort of low-key beach life that the Philippines does well when it hasn't yet been overrun by mass tourism.
The beach itself is somewhat pebbly — as the resort name suggests — and the swimming depends on the season. The area is more about relaxation than watersports. It is a popular getaway for people based in Borongan and is also used as a staging point for boat trips along the coast. Rates at the beach resorts are very reasonable by any standard.
