Sulpan Cave

Sulpan Cave sits near Pinipisakan Falls and is often visited on the same trip. It is a substantial limestone cave with winding chambers connected by passages, and a subterranean river runs through the lower section. The river creates conditions that feel remote and genuinely underground — the sound of moving water in the dark, the cool air, the formations hanging above.

The cave requires a guide, who will bring a torch; bring your own backup light. Parts of the cave involve low passages and wet rock, so expect to get muddy. The local tourism office at Catarman can arrange access and guide hire. The cave is relatively undeveloped by tourist standards — no concrete walkways or coloured lights — which is part of its appeal.
