Sogod is on the main coastal road through Southern Leyte. Buses and jeepneys connect it to Maasin, the provincial capital (about 45 minutes south), and to Ormoc and Tacloban in Leyte to the north. The bus terminal is in the town centre and serves as the main hub for movement around the province.
The nearest port with regular ferry service is Maasin, which has connections to Cebu City and other Visayan islands. There is no airport in Southern Leyte — the nearest is in Tacloban, about 2–3 hours north by road.
