Nagsasa Cove

Nagsasa Cove sits about two kilometres south of Anawangin along the same volcanic coastline, and for those who've visited Anawangin before, Nagsasa is the natural next step. The same ash-grey sand, the same agoho pine forest, and the same dramatic hillside backdrop — but the beach is wider, the cove is deeper, and there are typically fewer tents. A freshwater river flows into the cove at the north end, fed by springs from the Zambales Mountains.

Getting there requires the same boat from Pundaquit, though the ride is slightly longer — about 40 minutes to an hour depending on sea conditions. Some visitors combine both coves on a two-night trip, camping at Anawangin the first night and Nagsasa the second. The sunset behind the hills is excellent from either cove, but the wider beach at Nagsasa gives more room to spread out.
