Potipot Island is a small coral island off the coast of Candelaria in northern Zambales — a five-minute bangka ride from the mainland that lands you on a powdery white sandbar with clear, shallow water and lush trees providing shade along the centre. Unlike the volcanic coves in the south, the sand here is fine and pale, and the shallow reef flat makes for easy snorkelling and safe wading.
The island is small enough to walk around in 20 minutes, but the combination of good water clarity, manageable crowds (it sees fewer visitors than Anawangin), and easy access makes it a relaxed half-day or full-day destination. Several cottages and small accommodation options operate on the island, providing a simpler alternative to camping at the southern coves. The best time to visit is at low tide, when the sandbar extends further and the water turns glassy.
