Al Areesh

Al Areesh is an abandoned fishing village north of Zubarah, inhabited from the early 19th century into the late 20th century. Its name refers to shelters made from date-palm fronds, and the remains add another layer to the pearling, fishing, and coastal settlement history of northwest Qatar.
