Al-Ahsa International Airport (HOF) receives domestic flights from Riyadh and Jeddah via Saudia and flydeal. The airport is about 25 km southwest of Hofuf.
By road, Al-Ahsa is about 80 km southwest of Dammam and 90 km from Khobar on the Arabian Gulf coast — a straightforward drive on a good highway. From Riyadh it is approximately 400 km east on the highway through the Dahna desert. Car hire is the practical choice for exploring the oasis, as the main sites are spread over a large area and public transport is limited.
