Abdullah Al-Suleiman Palace is part of the same Ta'if story as the city's better-known summer palaces: government, trade, and mountain air meeting in a cooler Hijaz resort. Its old walls and proportions show the local taste for substantial stone buildings with airy rooms suited to the climate.
It is a worthwhile secondary stop if you are already looking at Ta'if's historic houses and palace architecture. The building is less famous than Shubra Palace, but together these places explain why Ta'if became a preferred retreat for officials and wealthy families.
