Danyang Geumgul Cave Site is an archaeological cave site on the Namhan River, with traces of human use from the Stone Age and Bronze Age. It is one of the quieter historic stops around Danyang, better suited to travellers interested in early settlement than to casual sightseers.
The setting near the river helps explain why the cave mattered: this valley has long been a natural route through the mountains of North Chungcheong.
