Cheongok Natural Cave is strange in the best way: a limestone cave system sitting under the city rather than out in a remote mountain park. The formations are hundreds of millions of years old, and the short visitor route gives an easy underground break from the coast.
It is a practical bad-weather stop and works well if you are staying near central Donghae. Bring a light layer; caves do not care how warm the beach was.
