A purpose-built commercial district in the Haeundae area, built on reclaimed land that was an air base until the 1990s. The centrepiece is Shinsegae Centum City, which holds a Guinness record as the world's largest department store — fourteen floors of retail, plus an ice rink, golf driving range, cinema, spa, and a food hall that takes most of an hour to walk through properly.
The Busan Cinema Center (영화의전당) sits alongside the shopping complex and is worth a look even if you're not there for a film — its main structure features one of the world's largest roof overhangs, lit up spectacularly at night. It's the official home of the Busan International Film Festival and hosts outdoor screenings on the plaza during BIFF week in October.
Centum City subway station (Line 2) puts you right at the entrance.
