Korea's largest seafood market, and one of the few places in Busan where the city's port identity is still completely legible. The main building houses stalls selling live fish, shellfish, octopus, and sea cucumbers from tanks; the outdoor waterfront section is rougher and busier, with ajumma vendors in yellow aprons presiding over their catches from early morning.
The best time to visit is around 6–7am, when the auction floor below the main building is in full swing and crates of the overnight catch are being sorted, weighed, and sold by the lot. The market stays busy until evening, but the atmosphere is more generic by afternoon.
Buy something fresh at a stall and have it prepared to eat upstairs in one of the restaurants — you pay a small processing fee and they serve it with rice and banchan.
