UN Memorial Cemetery

World's only UN cemetery, honoring Korean War fallen

The only UN cemetery in the world, and the resting place of over 2,300 soldiers from 16 nations who died during the Korean War (1950–53). Busan was the last major South Korean city never captured by North Korean forces, which is why so many of the fallen are buried here.

Each participating nation has its own section. The Turkish and Canadian memorials are particularly worth stopping at. A small museum documents the war's history with photographs and a video presentation; a Wall of Honour records every soldier who died in the conflict.
