The Shizhuo Trail System is a network of short walking routes in Alishan's tea-growing country, linking bamboo groves, cedar forest, viewpoints, and high mountain farms. It is a quieter alternative to the most crowded sunrise and railway spots around Alishan itself.
The trails are not difficult, but the weather changes quickly and mist can turn views into atmosphere. Combine one or two loops with a tea stop in Shizhuo village and you get a good feel for the cultivated side of the Alishan mountains, not just the postcard forest.
