Somoni Park stands on a hill above the right bank of the Syr Darya, with a monument to Ismail Somoni as its focus. The setting is the main reason to come: the raised position gives a useful view back across Khujand and the river.
The fountains around the monument are not always running, so treat it as a short stop rather than a full outing.
