Summer and early autumn are the easiest seasons for Khorugh and the wider Pamirs. Roads are more likely to be open, village transport is more predictable, and the high valleys are at their most forgiving.
Spring can be beautiful but landslides and washouts are a real risk on the approach roads. Winter is possible for determined travellers, but snow, short days, and closed passes make Khorugh a much harder base.
