EmQuartier and the older EmPorium across the road form Bangkok's most upscale shopping corridor at Phrom Phong BTS station. EmQuartier's distinctive exterior — a curved tower with a vertical garden of 150 plant species — is one of Bangkok's more striking recent architectural additions.
The dining floors are the real draw: a serious collection of Japanese restaurants (EmQuartier has its own Yamazato and multiple ramen specialists), high-end Thai, and international options. The rooftop terrace and the helix atrium with its cascading waterfall make for good people-watching over coffee. Weekends get crowded with Bangkok's wealthier residents doing their weekly shop.
