A genuinely good modern museum on the eastern edge of Hat Yai, on the campus of Prince of Songkla University. The collections cover the geology, flora, and especially the fauna of southern Thailand and the Malay Peninsula — strong sections on marine biodiversity, the gibbons of the Songkhla rainforests, and the megafauna fossils from the region's limestone caves.
The exhibits are well labelled in Thai and English, the displays are modern, and the museum is rarely busy. A useful air-conditioned stop on a hot afternoon, particularly if you have children. Closed Mondays.
