Hasan Paşa İmaret Mosque was built in 1510, when an imaret meant a charitable soup kitchen as well as a religious building. The kitchen is gone, but the mosque is a useful stop in the old centre, close to Nasreddin Hoca's tomb.
It is not a major Ottoman monument, and that is part of the appeal. It shows Akşehir as a working Anatolian town where small historic buildings still sit in the daily street pattern.
