Nasreddin Hoca's tomb is the place that gives Akşehir its personality. The comic Sufi sage may be more legend than biography, but his stories travelled across the Islamic world, and Akşehir treats him as a neighbour who merely stepped out for a moment.
The tomb stands in a cemetery on Umut Sokak, with statues and small jokes nearby. It is a quick visit, but it explains the town better than any museum label could.
