The old windmills stand in a short row on the rise above the centre, a reminder that Alaçatı's famous wind mattered before windsurfing schools and weekend visitors arrived. They are simple structures, but they make a good orientation point and a fine sunset perch.
The walk up is short from the old town. From here you see how the village sits between the inland peninsula and the windsurfing bay to the south.
